General Information About GURIANG-Cluster Usage
In this section we use some terminologies as follows:
- Head node is the head/front-end of the clusters. This computer is accessible from the world via ssh. The cluster address is guriang.unpad.ac.id.
- Node is the calculate computer which is put behind the head node. Node has a local ip address to the cluster in accessible from the world.
- Queuing system is the system that manages the execution of programs/jobs in the cluster. It decides which node and processor to use by a program. Using this queuing system a user does not need to interact directly with the nodes. It is strictly suggested to use always queuing system to run program. Running a program without it may cause overloaded cpu power in a particular node, which results in slowing down the calculation speed.
